Arrived: May 29, 2004 (Amber)
Arrived: June 7, 2004 (Sheba)
Originally placed: July 2, 2004
Returned: January 24, 2006
Sheba and Amber arrived at CFN about a week apart and were
adopted into a new home together soon after, but now their owner is moving
to Washington D.C. where she cannot take ferrets, and so the girls are
looking to find a new home again. They are about 2 to 2.5 years old now.
The following was written about the girls when they first arrived:
Sheba was found as a stray, and is a little ball of energy. She is
constantly alert to what is happening around her and MUST be a part of
it. She is very young and very pudgy, and is a bit free with putting her
mouth on skin, and has made the volunteers yelp and jump by going after
their feet. She may be a handful for a first time owner. Sheba gets
along great with other ferrets. She doesn't have any tattoos.
Amber is an adorable, affectionate and very active and playful girl
who gets along with other ferrets. Amber is from Marshall Farms.

Name: Annie
 |
Sex: F |
Age: 4 years |
Color: dark-eyed white |
Name: Baby
 |
Sex: F |
Age: 5 years |
Color: dark-eyed white |
Arrived: January 9, 2005
Originally placed: January 28, 2005
Returned: March 2, 2006
This business of ferrets had to be given up because their owner is going
to Iraq. Gilligan was adopted from CFN in 200 as a 4 month old
unneutered stray (since neutered). Gilligan gets along with the others
in the home but has not been friendly to new ferrets he has met. Their
former owner felt that Annie and Baby should stay together, and
he told CFN that they are both deaf. We also want to keep Buffalo Girl
and Booboo together. They are all very active and have
beautiful coats, except for Annie who has a bare butt, and so may need
adrenal surgery. All of them except Gilligan are from Marshall Farms.
These girls were adopted from CFN one year ago, and have been given good
care, but when it became obvious that Baby needed adrenal surgery, the owner
could not deal with the financial obligation of caring for a pair of older
ferrets. Both are deaf but get along with other ferrets.
Baby underwent adrenal surgery April 6, 2006 and never recovered. A necropsy
showed she died of peritonitis caused by a hole in her intestine. The
vets were very surprised and baffled, since Baby appeared health before
surgery. She had a very long procedure with a right adrenal that was
difficult to remove. Baby's long time cage-mate Annie is adjusting to
Baby's absence thanks to all the other ferrets (Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli,
Willow, Hufflepuff, Takoda, Hermione, and Chantilly) in her foster home.
Annie recently lost a tooth, but otherwise is in good health, and
enjoys playing with her cage mates Hufflepuff and Takoda, and bossing
her foster parents about.

Color: silver |
Name: Daffodil
 |
Sex: F |
Age: 3 years |
Color: chocolate |
|
Arrived: February 5, 2006
This pair of cute little sprites was left on the doorstep of Multnomah
County Animal Services. Violet and Daffodil appear to be
in good shape, but just need to find a new home where they can stay
together. Both are from Marshall Farms.
Daffy died on October 24th, 2008.
Daffy was being medicated for low blood sugar, but was healthier than
her cagemate Violet who has been suffering from insulinoma that has not
responded well to medicationdied, and so her sudden death was a shock. She
will be missed by her foster parent and her lifelong companion, Violet.

| Name: Oscar |
Sex: M |
Age: 3 years |
Color: panda |
| Name: Calvin |
Sex: M |
Age: 4 years |
Color: chocolate |
Arrived: February 17, 2006
Not much is known about these sweet little boys, but the previous owner was
moving and asked his roommate to find them a new home. Oscar and
Calvin have a history of getting along well with children, cats, dogs,
and other ferrets (what sweet boys!). We hope that these two incredibly
wonderful fuzzies will find their forever home soon! Oscar is from Marshall
Farms, but like Brad and Janet, Calvin doesn't have any tattoos.

| Name: Dookie |
Sex: M |
Age: 2 years |
Color: chocolate |
| Name: Yuki |
Sex: M |
Age: 3 years |
Color: sable |
|
Arrived: April 28, 2006
Dookie and Yuki, along with four other ferrets, were forced
to find new homes when a sick relative of their owner required the family
to relocate from Astoria to Arizona. Dookie is into balls and bells. If
it is a ball or it has a bell, he must have it, he can't get enough of
them and he collects as many as he can get his paws on. Yuki is more
laid back and will even allow himself to be cuddled. Dookie and Yuki are
both from Marshall Farms.

Name: Mister

Sex: M |
Age: 5 years |
Color: sable |
| Name: Mini |
Sex: F |
Age: 5 years |
Color: sable |
|
Arrived: June 19, 2006
Mister and Minnie Me need to find a new home because their
teen aged owner made a poor decision to move out and into a bad situation
that put her pet ferrets at risk, and while she got herself out of the
situation, she was unable to take the ferrets with her. The pair has been
living with Slinky and they get along with other ferrets. Despite their age,
both Mister and Minnie Me are very active and playful. Mister has an
adorable white bib and kneecaps, but he is showing symptoms of adrenal
disease that will need attention. Minnie Me (possibly the cutest ferret
on the planet right now) had been rescued as a young
ferrets from a situation of abuse: her tail does unusual things because it
was broken by her first owners whose children were allowed to spin her
around by her tail. Both Mister and Minnie Me are from Marshall Farms.
Minnie Me died on October 20, 2008, and was a long time member of
the foster home in which the CFN web cam is located, and many viewers
have watched her over the years. We knew her as a silly, spunky
little girl who adored people and enjoyed the company of other ferrets.
Minnie was a super sweet girl and it was traumatic to watch her
decline in the last few months of her life, her spark slowly fading away
from inflammatory bowel disease and insulinoma. She was such a tiny
thing but she left a large hole in our hearts.

Name: Mathilde
 |
Sex: F |
Age: 3.5 years |
Color: sable |
|
Arrived: October 13, 2006
Mathilde was found in the middle of nowhere, unable to use her hind
legs. Her rescuers took her home and contacted CFN to help. We made the
4 hour round trip to Lebanon, OR to pick her up and found a very robust
3-4 year old sable sprite that had no tattoos to tell us her origin. She
may have been bred locally. She had no sign of any injury and since she
was quickly regaining some use of her hind legs, we suspect she may have
had atrophied muscles from being cage bound or sustained a nerve injury
during her escape. No one has claimed Mathilde and once she has been
treated for her ear mite infestation, we will see how she gets along
with other ferrets. She has a small growth on one of her front legs that
needs to be removed.
Update: Mathilde likes other ferrets, providing they're friendly and
not to mean, and she loves people and hunting for treats hidden
throughout her play rooms.

| Name: Bowen |
Sex: M |
Age: 3 years |
Color: cinnamon |
| Name: Loki |
Sex: M |
Age: 3 years |
Color: cinnamon |
Arrived: April 7, 2007
Bowen and Loki were much loved ferrets who had to be turned
over to CFN because one of their owners developed a severe allergy to them.
They were in the same home since they were kits and came to Oregon all the
way from Ohio. They get along well with other ferrets. Bowen tends to have
some problems adjusting to new circumstances, which he displays by
inappropriate nipping behavior.

| Name: Buffy |
Sex: F |
Age: 2 years |
Color: champagne |
|
Arrived: July 15, 2007
Buffy arrived in July because her elderly
owner could not afford to pay for her vet care.
Buffy was purchased from Petco as a companion to another ferret, and
she is aggressive with cats. Buffy is from Marshall Farms.

|
Name: Elly Mae
 |
Sex: F |
Age: 4 years |
Color: dark-eyed white |
|
Arrived: July 29, 2007
Elly Mae was found as a very thin and scruffy stray walking down the
road. The people that found her were going to keep her, until they found out
that her swollen vulva meant she had adrenal disease and that she would need
surgery. She is a very beautiful dark-eyed white and gets along with other
ferrets. She has no tattoos so we do not know her origin.

|
Name: Sterling
 |
Sex: M |
Age: 4 years |
Color: silver/blaze |
|
Arrived: August 12, 2007
Sterling was confiscated from a condemned house after his owner was
arrested on drug possession charges -- sadly Sterling was found with a dead
cagemate. He arrived at the rescue agency in California underweight with
sticky, urine-covered fur, a weepy eye, and with a sore on his side. A vet
felt he had had a broken leg in his past and he does not use that hind leg
normally. Since his arrival we have found that he is deaf and probably blind
as well. He is in a foster home now enjoying the company of another older
ferret, Diego, and Diego is enjoying the grooming Sterling provides.
Sterling has no tattoo, so we don't know his origin.

Name: Eloise

Sex: F |
Age: 4 years |
Color: albino |
|
Arrived: October 8, 2007
Eloise is a middle-aged albino that was found in a cage by the side
of the road in Medford, OR. She had an injury to one of her eyes and the
worst case of ear mites the vet has ever seen. Both problems are being
treated.

|
Name: Ajax
 |
Sex: M |
Age: 7 years |
Color: sable |
|
Arrived: November 1, 2007
Ajax was owned by the same person that owned Millie and adopted Dylan
and Harley. She sadly could not afford to provide them with the vet care
they need and she also had her own health issues that prevented her from
continuing to care for them.
Ajax is like a wonderful, mostly naked little brick; heavy to hold, kinda
stiff, not moving at a fast pace. He's a happy fellow who has adrenal
issues, yet has lived so far to be at least eight years old and showing no
signs of leaving any time soon. He squeals like a little girl when he
feels threatened, partly because he is blind. He was surrendered along
with three others when their owner couldn't deal with their illnesses and
couldn't afford vet care for them Two have since passed away and the
third was recently adopted. Not much history was passed along with him
(or the others).

| Name: Seasons |
Sex: F |
Age: 2 years |
Color: chocolate |
|
Arrived: January 24, 2008
Seasons and Bonzai were turned in to Haven Humane in Redding, CA
because their owner was charged with cruelty. They were very thin and not
in good shape since they had been without water or food for about a week
or so.
Banzai has recovered completely and is the most enthusiastic jumper we
have had for a while (which is saying something).
Seasons is still very
skittish and scuttles away to hide with the littlest noise or sudden
movement. She will play enthusiastically with the other ferrets when she
feels secure though. Seasons is from Marshall Farms.

| Name: Timber |
Sex: M |
Age: 3 years |
Color: silver mitt |
|
Arrived: March 16, 2008
Timber is a very athletic guy. He arrived as a stray from Gresham
that was turned in to Multnomah County Animal Services and was never
claimed. He is very talkative and a good climber and jumper. He loves
wrestling and rough-housing with other ferrets. Timber got his name because
when he first arrived he did a lot of shivering and his foster caretaker
kept thinking of the expression "shiver me timbers!". Timber is from
Marshall Farms.

|
| Name: Sawyer |
Sex: M |
Age: 3 months |
Color: champagne |
|
Arrived: October March 24, 2008
Sawyer was confiscated from his home in California after an
acquaintance reported their child had been bitten by Sawyer. Ferrets are
illegal to own in California, so Sawyer had to be sent out of state.
Sawyer's former owners sent a letter with him telling us about him,
including his birthday (February 14, 2008). They reported he likes to
play with cat "fishing pole" toys and that he slept in bed with them near
their feet. He loves to roll balls and to play in water, even swimming in
the tub. He likes to be kissed and scratched under his chin and behind
his ears. Samantha also wanted to make sure he goes to a good home where
someone will love him and let him out to play all the time. We will
do the best we can Samantha, in the mean time he is in a wonderful
foster home and gets to play with two young girls, Vonny and Alaska.

| Name: Legolas |
Sex: M |
Age: 3 years |
Color: albino |
Arrived: February 25, 2006
Placed: October 7, 2006
Returned: May, 2008
This fellowship of ferrets came to CFN via a humane society in Redding CA --
because ferrets are illegal in CA they had to be sent out of state. A CFN
representive drove all the way down to Meford and back in the same day to
pick them up from the volunteer that had been providing foster care for
them for a year while they were in CA. Aragorn, Leoglas and
Gimli did not arrive at the humane society together, but they have
formed a great friendship and we'd hate to see the fellowship broken. At the
very least, if they don't go together they need to go to a home with a ferret
playmate since they love to play with other ferrets. All three boys are from
Marshall Farms.
Aragorn and Gimli found a home together in July, but Legolas, who
loves to play with people and other ferrets, is still looking for his
perfect home. In the meantime, Legolas lives with his other ferret
friends in his foster home.
Legolas found a home with his friend, MacGyver, but was returned a couple
of years later through no fault of his own. This happy, playful boy is
now ready to bounce into your home.

| Name: Tommy |
Sex: M |
Age: 1 year |
Color: sable |
| Name: T.J. |
Sex: M |
Age: 1.5 years |
Color: sable |
Arrived: August 3, 2008
Tommy and T.J. have been together since they were kits, and
this is their first time away from home. They came from a loving family
that went through a divorce, and after the breakup the state trooper that
owned them was unable to get them out of their cage for 2 months because
of the long hours he put in at work. They are a bonded pair and need to
stay together, and both guys are lovable and sweet with no bad habits.
Tommy is the shy one and is also the bigger of the two, with a little
white line going down his chin. Tommy holds back to see what is happening,
but once he feels safe, look out! Tommy also loves to play tag and tickle
the tummy. T.J. is the smaller guy, but is fast and climbs: a zoom, zoom
kind of guy. He is first to come out of the cage and is excited about
everything: a wonderful outgoing happy guy who loves chicken jerky, rough
housing, and to play the "cops and robbers" game. He is also quite the
talker -- the more excited he gets the more he dorks and chatters. Each
has a bar tattoo in his right ear.

|
| Name: Kool |
Sex: M |
Age: 2 years |
Color: light champagne |
|
Arrived: August 6, 2008
This little sweetheart came from a family that was to only babysit for two
weeks... three months later the owner had never come for Kool.
Kool arrived three days after Tommy and T.J, and Kool's cage was so tiny
he only had room to use the litter box and then hop back into his hammie:
his environment was very sterile. Kool didn't know what "tone" (Ferretone)
is, or treats, or how to cut lose and play. After quarantine was up and
exam and shots he was introduced to Tommy and T.J. They play like long lost
friends, and Kool is learning fast and has moved in with them. Kool comes
when called and has discovered he loves to sleep in dark boxes, running
through tubes, and learning to do the "rough and tumble." Kool is ticklish
and enjoys testing treats and different foods. Kool is from Marshall Farms

| Name: Oola |
Sex: F |
Age: 1 year |
Color: chocolate |
|
Arrived: July 29, 2007
Placed: October 17, 2007
Returned: November, 2008
Not only was Oola in need of a new home because her previous owner
no longer wanted her, but she also needed to find a new state in which to
live, because her previous owner lived in California where ferrets are
illegal as pets. Poor Oola had to travel all the way from Redding, CA to
Portland, OR. She is a beautiful chestnut brown color and has a very short
tail, which we do not know if she was born with it that way or if she had
an accident or surgery that resulted in the short tail. Oola is very sweet
and loves to play with balls by pushing them around with her nose. She
will roll them toward a human and then wait for the human to roll it back
past her so she can chase it. Oola likes other ferrets, and she has no
tattoos so we do not know her origin.
Oola found a home, but when her owner became pregnant Oola was returned
to CFN. The good news is that you have a second chance to adopt
this adorable little princess of a ferret!

Sex: M |
Age: 2 years |
Color: sable |
|
Arrived: October 13, 2008

|
| Name: Sylvester |
Sex: M |
Age: 5 months |
Color: dark-eyed white |
|
Arrived: November 20, 2008
First-time ferret owners from Salem called CFN for help because they said
their ferret was biting, growling, and barking and they couldn't handle him
any longer. It sounded serious, and so we took Sylvester in to
"rehab" him, but we have yet to get him to do anything inappropriate, so
the previous
owners either didn't know what they were talking about, or they were
mistreating him. We did find out that Sylvester was infested with ear mites.
Sylvester is a lover and enjoys people and other ferrets, he is all white
with a black spot on his back and black and white rings on his tail. He was
purchased from Petco and appears to be deaf. He is from Marshall Farms.

|
| Name: Toby |
Sex: M |
Age: 1 year |
Color: sable |
|
Arrived: November 24, 2008
Toby's owner called CFN in tears to ask for help. She had taken her
ferret to Dove Lewis Emergency Clinic after he had vomited and become
lethargic. They took x-rays and discovered he had an intestinal blockage
from ingesting something he could not pass. He would probably die a painful
death without emergency surgery to remove the blockage, but she did not
have the finances to pay for his surgery. Luckily, the shelter vet,
Dr. Ramsell, was willing to help immediately and she was able to
single-handedly (she had no techs to help her) removed the blockage from
Toby and saved his life. Toby is a super sweetheart and loves other ferrets
and people (think chubby, fluffy Teddy bear). Toby is from Marshall Farms.

Sex: F |
Age: 2 years |
Color: sable |

Arrived: October 13, 2008
Bullwinkle was owned by the same family as Merlin and Hoss. The

turned over to CFN with Hoss so that all three ferrets could be reunited.

|
| Name: Moxie |
Sex: F |
Age: 3 years |
Color: silver |
| Name: Expo |
Sex: M |
Age: 3 years |
Color: sable |
|
Available: November, 2007
This pair of ferrets need to find a new home, but are staying with their
current caretaker until a qualified new owner can be found. The following
is from Moxie and Expo's current owner:
Moxie, the girl, is a little stand-offish but likes to play with Expo, the
boy. Expo is very loveable, friendly and playful - he doesn't bite except
when playing and then only light nipping. Expo has Inflamatory Bowel
Disease and requires a single daily dose of medicine, which he doesn't
mind too much. Moxie gets irritated if you don't pay attention to her and
will sometimes nip to let you know she wants something... fortunately,
she licks first, letting you know you should watch out! Both have been
around kids, dogs and cats (sort of -- the cat knows to stay away from
them -- she doesn't like them at all).
These ferrets were my son's, and now he doesn't want to have anything to
do with them, and so their care has landed in my lap. Unfortunately we have
too much going on at home with the two ferrets, a dog and a cat (both of
whom are geriatric and have serious health problems). Additionally
we have a daughter who is also under constant medical care, and it is all
becoming too much. I have to find a new home for these ferrets!

Buttertubs, Jinglepot and Verity are three beautiful
ferrets who need to find a new home because their owner's career involves
a move to either California or Hawaii where ferrets are illegal. They all
get along with other ferrets. Buttertubs is huge and doesn't mind
being cuddled. These three great ferrets are staying with the current
caretaker until we can find them a new home, are each about 3 years old and
are from Marshall Farms.
