Elayne has been active in one form of animal care or studies ever since high school, and has worked in animal related fields all of her life. Elayne has a degree in wildlife biology, worked for fifteen years as an animal keeper at the Oregon Zoo (at the time it was called the Washington park Zoo), was a naturalist for the Tualatin Valley Parks & Recreation District, and is the current coordinator for the Cascade Ferret Network. Elayne is a very creative individual, and her art work has been featured in various publications both local and national, and her drawing of her pet ferret, Kiva, became the logo for the Oregon Ferret Association, and her other drawings have found there way into numerous ferret publications and web page designs (including the Cascade Ferret Network logo). Elayne enjoys travel, hiking, bird watching, backpacking, cross country skiing, scuba diving and anything else that gets her outside.
